Shofar. What is it? Some say it is a bugle. Some say the shofar is a trumpet. Some call the shofar a horn. The Shofar is all three. Refer to Jericho in the Bible.
The original shofar was likely a ram's horn. The largest shofar s (shofarot) today are of the Kudu (large African antelopes). The Yemenite shofar comes from Africa to America via Israel. The shofar is hollowed, drilled, & rabbi blessed.
A shofar (ram shofar or kudu shofar) may be ornate or for ceremonial purposes. We offer the #1117 shofar which is a silver plated shofar and is less expensive than expected. Ranging from 25" to 31" long (measure along the curve). The ram ceremonial shofar is #1155. The largest shofar we offer is #1111, an XL Jumbo size shofar. It ranges from 45" to 50" (cl). This shofar can be scarce and often backordered; you may have to wait for this shofar. The XL Jumbo shofar is often $300.00+. Ours is a lot less but high quality.
The size of the shofar is from 8" to 50". Our shofar price range is from $25.99 to $274.99. We have gemsbok shofar #1130 (28" to 30") and anointing shofar (either #1175 or #1176).
Let us know which shofar you want...remember the shofar bag and shofar stand.
NOTE: shofar length is measured on outside curvature (cl).
